About: Who Is “Maxwanette A Poetess?”

Maxwanette A. Poetess {aka: M.A.M./Max A. Poetess}?”

“The Unlimited Mind” by Hyacinth W. Moncrieffe, “Poetry, Language Of The Soul, Vol. I.”, & “The Poetic Storm, Vol. II., by Maxwanette A Poetess

Hyacinth W. Moncrieffe, was the fist poet in Maxwanette’s life. She was also her mother. She wrote her first and only self-published book, “The Unlimited Mind”, in 1983. Maxwanette happily & reminiscently stated, “Mommy is my main inspiration. She said that the human brain/mind has no limits. She told me to never stop asking questions, never stop seeking knowledge, and never stop writing.”

So, Maxwanette, What Is The Purpose Of Your Page, & Other Social Media Outlets?

“The purpose of my pages, are to simply reach out to others. To let people know that there’s more to life than only living, loving, and going about our daily lives, as if others cease to exist. To remind myself & others, that we don’t have to suffer in life if we all try to remember what love really is and work together. If we try walking in each others shoes, maybe, just maybe, we might have more overstanding & compassion. Humanity must take care of itself & life on a whole. We Must Do This TOGETHER. A part of P.L.O.T.S.’s main function, is to remind people of that & even to remind myself at times. I’m building a Poetic Bridge, lol! I am seeking those that share my ideas. Bringing the world together, one at a time, and hopefully, making it a better place. This has been the catalyst and the duo meaning to the acronym of P.L.O.T.S.”

Maxwanette, How Do You View Life?

β€œI’ve had more than enough negativity in my life. I also have had many beautiful experiences. We all make mistakes, we all have fears. But change & growth, produces so much.” I simply feel that to achieve a more even balance in this existence, more positivity will only level the playing field, lol!

“Yin & Yang Symbol”

What Does This Even Mean???…

“Namaste & One Love”β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’š

Well, “Namaste & One Love” is a term I simply adore & relate to. In Layman’s Terminology, Namaste means: the love within me recognizes and reflects the love you have within you.

One Love means: Love for The Most High, Self, Others, & Life Overall (my own overstanding/translation). It’s a combination of Hindu & Jamaican and it works for me, lol! I use this phrase more often than not. I feel that the world couldn’t hurt from a reminder of what that is. As well as I need a reminder myself from time to time.” ~Maxwanette A Poetess

Okay, So What About The 3 Hearts (Red, Gold, & Green) That Seem To Pop Up All The Time On Your Pages & Posts?

Red, Gold, & Green – πŸ’–πŸ’›πŸ’š

“The 3 Hearts, represent a vital connection. Being from Jamaican ancestry, and growing up around many Rastas (Rastafarians), gave me exposure to these colors. They’re familiar in the Caribbean, Africa, and other places around the world. Many recognize them & relate them to Bob Marley. I am not a Rasta per say, but I do have some Rasta-like ways. Colors are one of the bold ways in which Jamaicans express themselves, along with clothing and music. Each colored heart, holds a meaning;

❀️ – The Blood That Runs Through Our Veins – Strength, Power, The Bond, πŸ’› – The Sun, As It’s Needed To Sustain Life, & πŸ’š – The Earth – Life.

From my view, these are needed and important to everything that encompasses Humanity, Life, & Love.

Written By This Extraordinary, Poetic Wordsmith;

Maxwanette’s Poetry may cause a reaction and or response. Either or, the fact that it causes one to think and or feel? Is more than enough, says the Poetess.

If her Poetry strikes a chord? Then she kindly suggests that you,

“Speak to your Soul…And Listen.”

“Bob Marley (Robert Nesta Marley) was my Secret Mentor. Being of Jamaican descent, I was exposed to his music at every turn, except at home. I’d sneak to listen to his musically laced messages. My Mother simply didn’t allow “his” type of music, to be played in her home . I was raised to believe, that Rastas (Rastafarians) were thieves, murderers, and lazy criminals when I was growing up. Funny how that never rang true in my ears or thinking. You know, when in your gut, your Soul, you know, hmmm…there’s more to this story. So, I made it my business to know what Rasta is all about. Since I loved music, especially Reggae, I listened to Bob Marley CONSTANTLY & CONSISTENTLY. His lyrics, di riddim, and di vibes…Dem Level. It brought a level of Truth & Consciousness to my young developing mind. Never was I aware, that it would continue carrying me through this existence…Before my Mom died of breast cancer, in 2008, in her honor, and love for me and who I had become as a human being, she requested that I locs-up her hair before she died. Yeah, life is a beautiful thing. Because every day that you get? Is a chance to make it a better day, do better things, be a better person…Change life. Bob will live forever, mon. im’ timeless iyah. One~Love.”

Crafted By The Same Author of, “Poetry, Language Of The Soul, Vol. I.”

The Poetic Storm, Volume II., is a creation, derived from it’s original and first counterpart, “Poetry, Language Of The Soul, Volume I.” These books have become the Yin & Yang of this awesomely expressive poet, Maxwanette A Poetess. It gives an eyeful, to the other side of this poet’s mind and experiences. This book is an open, stark, and blatant story of life’s occurrences. Not only can one relate to the poetry encased within it’s flaps & covers, it forces the reader to face things, just as they are. It’s indeed a reflective reality check.

What Is Maxwanette’s Most Memorable Poetic Moment Thus Far?

“My most memorable poetic moment thus far? Well, I thought it would be when I published my books. But it came after meeting a group of Dub Poets on Facebook. I have turned into sort of a recluse over the years, lol! But this group of people are AMAZING! They slowly are pulling me out of my shell, which isn’t always easy nor fun, lol! But when I started to get such encouragement and support from this group of human beings, they shined a light on me, and got me to see, that I was glowing all the time, lol! That’s a treasure & a gift that keeps on giving. Coupled with being on “The Real Stuff Podcast,” of the online radiostation, reggaenostalgia. Working with such an amazing group of people, and being given such a prestigious opportunity to meet legends in the entertainment industry, is a pretty decent position to be in.

Maxwanette likes connecting with other Poets, Writers, Authors, Musicians, Dancers, Artists, etc., & those under the Arts & Literature umbrella. However, she feels deeply, that EVERYONE is talented & has a gift. She feels “Everyone Can Help, Everyone.” She believes that sometimes, it just takes someone to shine a light, and to be a reminder that, we ALL have a light within.

    1. Hi Megha! You’re very welcome. Seeing how my Mother was a Published Poet, it wasn’t that difficult. Also being able to read at a high level at an early age helped. Not to leave out, how adamant my Mother was about reading & writing. In school this became a great advantage for me. I thank you for your praise, but I owe it all to Mom.
