I use various types of sounds and inputs. However, it serves to relax my mind, body, & Soul. I am often able to meditate to Jazz, Opera, Dub Riddim (Reggae Music – The Version), and others.
So, meditation for me? Isn’t always about Zen music, smudging (sage burning), essential oils, incense, and teaching myself everything Buddha said. It helps, lol, but there is so much more to it.
I can meditate in a crowded area, and find inner calmness, right where I Am. It is like zoning-out, but not completely. I can do it, looking at a picture. Many know how to do that. It is also on the lines of daydreaming. You go in your Zone. You find a space to take a moment or break, to have serenity. You even regulate your breathing patterns; exhale, inhale a few times and recenter.

Maxwanette, Why Do You Meditate?
Because it simply feels darn good, lol! It gives me a moment to relax, let go of stress, and negative energies.
Sure when I start? My mind is usually racing and or bogged down with something. It takes a moment to relax, quiet the brain, and allow the vibes to do what they do.
I for one, lay down, get comfy, make sure my Himalayan Salt Lamps are on, burn my sage, set my tones (sort of like the Tibetan Bowls sound), play my meditation music and let go, bit by bit, until I’m fully in a meditative state. I stretch, hug myself, fart – yes, I said fart, lol! The colon has to meditate too, lol! And often, by the time I’m fully into it, I’m falling asleep. Internal & External Oneness & Peace.

The Body, Mind & Soul needs to reaffirm, refocus, recenter, recharge & realign itself or the functions will be poor & limited. So burn some sage, listen to some meditative sounds, breathe and then get going!
